Rising social evils and intolerance in society warrant the need to fully adopt the spirit of message of universally known Saint Baba Bulleh Shah (RA) which he jotted down in his mystical poetry urging to establish fraternal relations, tolerance and wider-ranging respectful connections amongst the human beings irrespective of caste, creed, colour and faith for bringing about peace.
These views were expressed by DCO Adnan Arshad Olakh while addressing the participants of a programme titled as "Aik Shaam Bulleh Shah Ke Naam" held in at Press Club here the other day.
The programme was jointly organised by Press club Kasur and Majlis Bulleh Shah. MNA Malik Rasheed Ahmed Khan, Additional District Collector Muhammad Shahid, DSP City Hassan Farooq Ghumman, DSP Patrolling Shoiab Cheema, DSP Saddr Syed Nazar Abbas Bokhari, SP Rangers Muhammad Umer Bhatti and political personalise including Amanullah Ansari, Aslam Ansari, Ayaz Khan, Afzaal Zain, Ali Ahmed Tolu and Press Club Chairman Shaukat Naqshbandi, and President Khadim Ali Khokhar also attended the ceremony.
The event was divided into two parts, the Mehfile Mushaira presided over by Govt Islamia College Principal Rao Akhtar Ali Khan while second part of the programme was shared by renowned folk singer Sain Zahoor who recited kafis of Baba Bulleh Shah.
In the Mushaira proceedings, the popular poets including Tajammul Kaleem, Raza Hassan, Rana Saeed Akhtar, Naveed Yaad, Fakir Bakkht, Prof Munawar Ghani, Ali Shakar and Farhat Ullah Suri presented their verses.
Speaking on the occasion, the special guests pressed upon to periodically arrange such valuable programmes, which they said that would be a rather guarantee to bring the followers of all the religious sects closer to establish brotherly relations and create the sentiments of tolerance.
