COIMBATORE: Residents of Tiruvalluvar Nagar in Ramanathapuram in the city were in for a rude shock on Monday morning when they found that their drinking water was contaminated and brown in colour. They alerted the corporation officials who resolved the issue within hours. The area had had not been receiving water for the past three days due to the Pillur and Siruvani pipeline interlinking.
“When we discovered that clean water was mixed with sewage water, we informed the officials,” a resident said. The officials stopped the supply, resolved the issue and restarted the water supply at 12pm.
