JAMMU, Dec 15: Former Union Minister & Pradesh Congress Committee president Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz, former Harayana Chief Minister  Bhupinder Singh Hooda and his ex-Cabinet colleague Nirmal Singh held series of rallies here today to seek support for the party candidates.
Addressing Congress rallies at Bantalab (Nagrota);  Sai (Suchetgarh Constituency), Gandhi Nagar Constituency and Panjtirthi (Jammu-East Constituency), for  Shiv Dev Singh, R S Chib, Raman Bhalla and Vikram Malhotra today. Prof Soz told the cheering crowd that on the best of his personal knowledge, he could say that Congress had performed very well in Ladakh and all the four seats are expected to come to Congress party. Also in Kashmir valley Congress has performed well and not a single seat would be bagged in Ladakh and Kashmir region by BJP.
He emphasized the fact that Congress  would emerge as a strong secular force in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly 2015 and Congress party would have the opportunity to be a determining factor to shape a secular coalition in the State. He appealed the people to vote and support Congress so that roots of secularism and economic stability are strengthened besides nefarious designs of BJP on scraping Article 370 are thwarted, so that forces inimical to peace and tranquility are kept at bay in the interest of nation. BJP used to demand the abrogation of Article 370 but during the present elections for the sake of vote politics, they have put this issue on the back burner.
Prof Soz described the statement of Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Article 370 as misleading and election oriented. Since, the elections in the Kashmir valley are over now and the BJP has once again  started rhetoric on the abrogation of Article 370. By doing so BJP is trying to mislead the people of Jammu region.
Bhupinder Singh Hooda, “Whom” Prof Soz described as the architect of Modern-Haryana,  addressing the gathering targeted  BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying they were misleading people even through their promises of, “Acche Din” are yet to come true. The BJP had sought votes in the Lok Sabha elections promising good days “Acche Din”. But after six months the BJP Government at the Centre stands exposed on all the major aspects of governance including the price rise. He added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is still misleading the people by false oratory.
He said that Congress ideology is to unite the people irrespective of caste, creed and religion. Congress is committed to development of Jammu & Kashmir and wanted to preserve the rich social, traditional and cultural heritage of the peace-loving people in its unique form.    He appealed people to strengthen the secular base of Congress party which will leave no stone unturned to keep J&K strong and a vibrant State in every field. He appealed people to vote and support Congress party so that roots of secularism, economic stability, peace and prosperity get strengthened.
