I don't have hope in state: Seer
BENGALURU: Raghaveshwara Bharathi Swami of Ramchandrapuara mutt, who has been booked in a sexual harassment/rape case, claimed on Monday that he doesn't have even 5% hope of getting justice from police or the state government.
Appearing on his behalf, former advocate general B V Acharya told the court that the seer has lost whatever confidence he had in the CID, the investigating agency.

"We don't have even 5% of hope to get justice at the hands of the investigating officer or the state. We have faith only in the court. Investigation is manipulated. Earlier, we had confidence in the CID to get justice. But after several developments, we have lost that. How can we believe the FSL report? The FSL is headed by ordinary police people; there is no recognized scientific officer. No expert in the lab. How can we trust that (report)?" he said.
"The swamiji was interrogated for 56 hours, but they did not disclose the details of the medical test. When this court dismissed our plea by 2.30 pm, within an hour, by 3.30pm, they (CID) issued notice to him asking him to appear for medical test. They said only DNA test would be done, but when we went, they conducted all the tests from 8 am till noon. But the media was told that only 13 tests were conducted, and that the seer did not cooperate for remaining tests," he added.
Hearing on Jan 6: A division bench observed that as there have been several developments after filing of the FIR, with the state/police ready to file a chargesheet, the seer can challenge the same and seek discharge from the case. The bench has adjourned the hearing to January 6, 2015.
In another development, the woman and her husband, who were present in the court, also filed objections to an appeal filed by the seer contending that the writ appeal is not maintainable and needs to be dismissed.
