It wasn’t easy to co-ordinate such a huge team!

Lijo Jose’s upcoming film Double Barrel has been creating a lot of buzz right from its announcement, the major reason being its spectacular star cast, consisting of Prithviraj, Indrajith, Arya, Swati Reddy, Asif Ali and Isha Sharvani among others.
However, all the actors have maintained a vow of silence about the film. It was also rumoured that the film overstepped its budget and thus ran into trouble.However, Lijo Jose clarifies on all the rumours, saying that the only reason the cast are not talking about the film is because they want the film to speak for itself.
“The shoot of Double Barrel got over without any hitches and only the post-production work remains. The release will happen next year, after February. Budget has never been an issue for this film; it was what the film demanded, though of course, it is a big film. But we don’t want to project it as a big film. We want it to speak for itself, on screen.”
According to Lijo, the USP of the film is not its star cast, but the fact that each actor came into it with a firm belief in the director’s vision. “Each of them was interested in the kind of film that we were doing. Arya, for example, is a big star and he doesn’t need to do a Malayalam film. But he too loved the kind of thought we had. It was not easy to coordinate such a big team of actors and technicians, but it worked, because of their belief. It is a new experience for me as well; whether it will work, I don’t know. Also, our country offers all the technology that is available globally and we have made use of as much of it as possible.”
