ABVP seeks Thampu’s suspension
NEW DELHI: Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on Monday demanded suspension of St Stephen’s principal Valson Thampu over the conversion allegations. They also demanded that security be provided to the suspended administrative officer Subha Kumar Dash. The right-wing students group has urged ministry of home affairs, Lieutenant Governor of Delhi and Delhi University vice-chancellor to intervene and conduct an impartial inquiry.

Speaking to TOI, Rohit Chahal, member of national executive, ABVP, said, “We want an independent inquiry into the allegations. This is a serious matter related to conversion by the Christian missionary and there could be international pressure for the same. Also pending inquiry, the accused should be placed under suspension.” “We are also waiting for the DUSU-St Stephen’s meeting. If nothing materializes and the suspension of Subha Kumar Dash is not revoked, ABVP will protest,” Chahal said.
