Fashion Week wows Kolkata

It was an explosion of colours and fantastic designs when four mainstream fashion designers of the country converged on Kolkata as part of the 10th edition of Blenders Pride Fashion Tour that concluded in the city on Saturday .
The designs of Varun Bahl, Abraham & Thakore, Pankaj & Nidhi and Namrata Joshipura were showcased at the event, the Day 1 of which was kickstarted with actor Irrfan -the style blender for the event -setting the house on fire with his wit.
While Varun's feminine silhouettes infused India's opulent crafts with cut ting-edge patterns from the west, Abraham & Thakore's collection showcased the many shades of khaki. Day 2 began with designer duo Pankaj & Nidhi's collection, The Glass House by the Sea. Live music by Midival Punditz, the music curators for the tour, and Shaa'ir + Func Grain enthralled one and all and added spunk to the show.
The evening ended with showstopper Sushmita Sen walking down the runway in a Namrata Joshipura creation. The actress wowed the crowd with her grace and panache. Way to go, Sush, we say.
