INDORE: A day after a 14-year-old boy Tanveer committed suicide after allegedly strangulating his 12-year-old sister Tanzila in city’s Khajrana locality, city police are probing possible link between Saturday evening shocker and alleged extra-marital relations of siblings father Niyaz Mohammad.
According to a senior city police official, Tanveer and Tanzila’s parents Niyaz Mohammad and Manjo were having frequent spats, as Manjo suspected Niyaz of having extra-marital relations.

Rocky marriage between Niyaz and Manjo was all pervasive even after Saturday evening deaths of the kids, as the couple started quarrelling with each other inside the house and also at the hospital near the two bodies.
It’s quite possible that strained marital ties of the couple might have influenced the kids behaviour making them hyperactive and excessively aggressive, which led to the fight between them on Saturday evening, while their parents were away.
While, Manjo is a school teacher, her husband Niyaz works as a machine operator at a private factory. Both were out of the house at the time of incident.
Meanwhile, the short post mortem report of Class VI student Tanzila’s body has established that she was strangulated and not stabbed. The wounds which made both her eyes bleed were inflicted by some sharp edged object, which is yet to be recovered.
“The short post mortem report has established that the girl was not stabbed, but strangulated and the wounds in the eyes were inflicted with some pointed or sharp edged object.
Autopsy has also revealed injury in the girl’s nose, more about which could only become clear after detailed post mortem report,” additional SP (East Zone I) Dr Rajesh Sahay.
ASP, however, added prima facie it still seems clear that the Class VIII student Tanveer killed Tanzila, as some neighbours had heard a noisy brawl between both siblings, just before the incident. But the neighbours could not intervene as the doors of the house were locked from inside.
He ruled out possibility of anyone else having killed the children, as their mother had broke open the doors of the house which were locked from inside.
Children’s mother Manjo had alleged her husband’s hand in the two deaths. While Tanzila was found dead inside the kitchen, Tanveer was found hanging to death in the other room.
