BHOPAL: Two people, including a general manager and an employee of Indian Telecom Industries limited (ITLI) were allegedly kidnapped from Shivpuri area on Sunday evening. The incident took place near Padarkheda railway station, 25 km from district headquarters.
The victims ITLI general manager Jaipal Khalko and Tulsi had gone in connection with laying of OFC cable for telecom connectivity near railway line 3 km away from Padarkheda police station, which falls under jurisdiction of Gopalpur police station.

When contacted, IG Gwalior range Adarsh Katiyar said two were missing and an intensive search operation was launched in the region.
There is no listed dacoit gang operating in the area though some gangs from adjoining areas keep terrorizing the area for extortion.
The area was once dominated by Rambabu and Dayaram Gadariya gang. They had kidnapped four railway employees from the same area in 2005. Rambabu was killed in a forest 80 km away from Shivpuri district headquarters in police encounter in 2007.
Gadariya gang kidnapped bank employees, school teachers, engineers, farmers and took a ransom of over Rs 3 crore between 1997 and 2005.
The gang was founded by Raghubir Gadariya after his wife walked out on him for another man near Dabra in Gwalior. Raghubir killed his wife and paramour and launched the gang with his nephews Rambabu, Dayaram, Vijay, Pratap and Gopal. All dacoits were eliminated till 2008.
"This is for sure that two people went missing from near railway tracks. We are trying to ascertain if a dacoit gang is involved," the IG said, adding no ransom call has been received yet.
Khalko was accompanied by railway engineer Dashrath Singh and a labourer. But both of them had gone ahead for checking the track when the remaining two were kidnapped, sources said.
