BHOPAL: Chotu Aggrawal, brother of Giriraj Aggrawal - petrol pump owner, who was shot dead by Shera Kirar and his gang on Tuesday - have approached police claiming threat to his life from Pappu Lohiya gang.
"After Shera's encounter by police, some people came to my house at midnight and pelted stones on the door and threatened stating I will also meet Giriraj's fate soon.
Pappu Lohiya had been terrorizing us for long. Even Shera was assigned to kill my brother by Pappu," Chotu told TOI.
I overheard people alleging Pappu Lohiya is patronized by MLA Rustam Singh, he added.
Meanwhile the MLA refuted the charges and said some people in the locality were trying to give the issue a political turn.
Talking to TOI, Rustam Singh said, "They think by spreading such rumours against me, my name would not be considered during the cabinet expansion. It was I, who asked superintendent of police to post a security guard outside their house. Also, I have asked them to arrest Pappu Lohiya, whosoever he is."
Shera Kirar, kingpin of a five-member gang into loot and extortion active in Gwalior-Chambal region for five years was shot dead in an encounter by crime branch officials on Gwalior city outskirts on Jhansi Road on Friday morning.

Ever since he had killed ASI R K Gautam two weeks ago, cops in Gwalior, Bhind and Morena were hot on his trail. He wounded three others during a shooting spree in Gwalior city.
Two days after ASI's killing, two members of his gang were gunned down, but Shera managed to escape. He was caught on CCTV when he shot dead Giriraj Aggrawal, a petrol pump owner in Morena district on Tuesday.
He was sitting in his cabin at petrol pump when Shera and two others entered and fired at him on chest. Aggrawal died on the spot and the gang fled the spot with Rs 38,000 they had looted. After scanning CCTV footage of the cabin, police were able to identify Kirar.
Chotu claims Pappu Lohiya is the head of gang that was led by Shera Kirar.
He had an altercation with an ASI of Kotwali police station in Morena when he went to lodge an FIR against Pappu Lohiya. "They were not lodging the FIR according to my complaint. So, I refused to sign it," said Chotu.
Meanwhile, a robbery also took place at Giriraj's godown located in Ambah area. "Thieves made away with Rs 65,000 worth pipes from the godown," Chtou said. Cops on Sunday arrested two aides of Kirar, who were involved in the killing of Aggrawal.
