Three persons died in a car accident in northern Finland on Sunday afternoon, reported Finnish national broadcaster YLE.
The head-on collision of two passenger cars happened in Simo, a northern town of Finland.
Police said that a suspected drunk man was driving along a highway from the south to the north, and tried to overtake a car in front of him, even though the oncoming traffic was visible ahead of him. His passing attempt resulted in a head-on collision.
There were four persons in the two cars, one in the car moving from the south to the north, three in the struck car.
Both the drivers were killed instantly. A woman in the car, which was struck, also died after being sent to hospital. The only survivor is an 11-year-old boy, who is not in danger at the moment.
According to police, the suspected drunk driver who died in the accident was a 19-year-old young man.
The local police are investigating the incident as a case of manslaughter, due to aggravated traffic safety endangerment and drunk driving.
