Sharifs decide to give free hand to PTI

LAHORE - Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had a meeting at Raiwind on Sunday, and decided not to create any hurdles in the way of PTI’s planned protest on Monday (today).
The two leaders also made an appeal to the masses and PML-N workers not to react to provocative speeches and activities and show patience and restraint.  But it was also decided that the law-enforcement agencies would come into action if anybody tried to close business through use of force.“The maintenance of law and order is the responsibility of the government and it will safeguard life and property of citizens at every cost”, an official handout issued after the meeting quoted the Punjab Chief Minister as having observed.
Shahbaz said that the people knew fully well that some elements were promoting lawlessness and violence in the country for the achievement of their vested interests.
Meanwhile, PML-N Lahore President Pervaiz Malik said here on Sunday that closing down of business for political purposes was illegal and unconstitutional.
He said that law will take its course if PTI workers tried to use any unlawful tactics. He said that Muslim League workers should not react to the negative politics of PTI.
He said that police and administration will not allow anyone to take the law into his hands. He warned that some elements could create law and order situation in the garb of Muslim League workers and PML-N workers should beware of such elements.
He said that PTI was bent upon depriving the poor of their livelihood through strikes and sit-ins. He said that this kind of politics had caused irreparable loss to national economy.
Pervaiz said that rejection of the boycott call of PTI by transporters and business organisations was a proof of their wisdom and patriotism. He said that every citizen except some self-motivated politicians was perturbed over the politics of lawlessness and violence as it was hampering the process of economic development and tarnishing the image of the country.  He said that politics of violence and ransacking had also undermined social values.
Pervaiz Malik said that politics of bodies was the manifesto of Tehrik-e-Insaf. He said that repeated and meaningless strikes were depriving the poor of their means of livelihood
“While the labourers and daily wagers are on the verge of starvation but some politicians in their lust for power have no concern with the wellbeing of workers and the common man”.
Malik welcomed the announcement of traders community to keep their business open and assured that all out protection will be provided to businessmen and people.
