Crorepati UP mining minister Gayatri Prasad Prajapati in BPL list

The minister’s assets have increased manifold in the past two years
Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh mining minister Gayatri Prasad Prajapati, who is under the Lokayukta scanner for allegedly misusing his position to amass assets worth crores, was a BPL card holder in 2002.
The complainant Om Shankar Dwiwedi said Sunday that Gayatri Prajapati held a BPL ration card in 2002 and it was in 2012 that he got an above poverty line ration card.
Mr Dwiwedi complained that the minister’s annual income was mentioned as Rs 24,000 in the ration card in 2012 while in the same year, he declared assets worth Rs 1.83 crore while contesting state polls with Samajwadi Party ticket.
The minister’s assets have increased manifold in the past two years and he now owns a dozen luxury cars and several companies. The complaint has also mentioned five firms in which Mr Prajapati, his wife and son are directors.
