Guard held for kidnap bid

NEW DELHI: A security guard was arrested for trying to kidnap a 2-year-old girl from central Delhi’s Paharganj area on Sunday afternoon.
Police said the incident took place when the girl and her father, Sandeep, had gone to a nearby market in Aram Bagh area. Sandeep, who works as a clerk at the HRD ministry, told police he got into an argument with the accused, Rakesh, after he passed a comment.
Later, Rakesh tried to lure the girl away from the market. Sandeep informed a PCR van stationed nearby. A few cops gave chase and nabbed the accused after a few kilometers.
