In the ongoing investigations into the case of alleged rape and subsequent sale of the victim, the Haryana Police have arrested another accused. A Maharashtra native, the woman was allegedly gangraped and sold in Rewari earlier this week. The accused, arrested Sunday, has been identified as Dayachand, a resident of Bhagana village of Alwar district in Rajasthan.
“The victim had reached Rewari railway station from Maharashtra a few days ago. She met Mukesh, a truck driver and resident of Kheejuri village who took her to his house. After a few days when Mukesh went out of station, his brother Satish started living in the same house. One day, Satish called his friends Jaipal and Hawa Singh, residents of Kheejuri, and they consumed liquor. Thereafter, they gangraped the woman and strangled her son to death. The trio then sold the woman to someone in Rajasthan through Surajbhan, a resident of Nangal Sehbaazpur,” an official spokesperson of Haryana Police said.
The crime came to light when the village sarpanch informed the police about the incident.
Acting on the information, the police initiated investigations, recovered the child’s body and also traced the rape victim to a village in Rajasthan. Her medical examination confirmed she was gangraped.
“All the accused, Satish, Hawa Singh and Jaipal who had allegedly killed the child and gangraped the woman; Sandeep, the Alwar resident who bought the woman; and Surajbhan and Dayachand who played vital roles in commission of crime were produced in the court Sunday. The court has sent Satish, Jaipal and Hawa Singh in three-day police remand and others to judicial custody,” the spokesperson added.
