Mayem meet demands police complaint against sarpanch, p’yat secy

BICHOLIM: Mayem gram sabha has unanimously demanded that a FIR be lodged against the panchayat’s sarpanch Veena Chodankar and former panchayat secretary Suresh Fadte for allegedly committing different financial scams.
The meeting held on Sunday at the panchayat hall in Mayem witnessed scenes of commotion as heated arguments took place between villagers and panchayat members over different issues.The gram sabha raised concern that the panchayat body, during a previous gram sabha, had passed a resolution in the name of a panchayat member, Suvarna Chodankar, about selling of scrap material, although Chodankar was not present at the meeting. tnn
