State to disburse Rs. 10,000 crore farm loan: H.S. Mahadevaprasad

H.S. Mahadevaprasad, Minister for Cooperation and Sugar, said that the State government has set a target of disbursing Rs. 10,000 crore crop loan through cooperative institutions by the end of current financial year.

He was speaking as chief guest at the inauguration of renovated office of the Kolar and Chickballapur District Cooperative Central Bank here on Sunday.

Claiming that the State government was committed for the welfare of the farmers, Mr. Prasad said daily milk procurement has risen to 60 lakh litre after the present government came to power last year.

“Incentive of Rs. four per litre of milk to the dairy farmers is the reason for this, among other things”, he said.

He promised that efforts will be made to provide Rs. 10 crore soft loan for Kolar and Chickballapur districts during Belagavi session of the legislature.

MP K.H. Muniyappa inaugurated the renovated building. Deputy Speaker of Legislative Assembly N.H. Shivashankar Reddy unveiled the portrait of bank’s founder president N.C. Nagayya Reddy at the function.

MLA K.R. Rameshkumar spoke. MLAs G. Manjunath, M. Rajanna, MLC R. Chowda Reddy, Zilla Panchayat president Rathnamma, KCDCC Bank president M. Govinda Gowda and MSIL chairman M.L Anilkumar participated.
