Vadodara-Padra highway to be converted to four-lane with divider

A road connecting suburb Padra to Vadodara city will be made four-lane at a cost of rs. 200 crore. The Gujarat government has approved this work which involves 5 km Gotri-B
The locals of Vadodara/Padra/Jambusar were demanding four lane conversion of Vadodara-Padra-Jambusar highway for last many years. They were demanding a widened highway with divider in middle following frequent accidents on this highway.
The government has in first phase approved 8 km Padra-Atladra(in Vadodara Municipal Corporation limit) highway at a cost of Rs. 200 crore. 5 km Gotri-Vadodara-Bhimpura cross roads highway will be constructed at a cost of Rs. 14 crore. Both these roads are presently 10 meter wide. They will be widened to 16 meter.
The state government has also announced Rs. 47 crore works covering 15 villages of Padra taluka.
