BHOPAL: A day after Professor Tahira Wahid Abbasi, HoD Persian language, alleged that registrar Lonu Singh Solanki on Friday misbehaved and used abusive language against her, she filed a complaint with Barkatullah University Teachers Association (BUTA).
When contacted, Professor Tahira said, “I am not going to withdraw the complaint. BUTA has assured me all help on this issue.
They have asked me to present the issue at the meeting where the matter would be discussed.”
Sources said BU has decided to form a committee to probe the matter. About filing a police case in this issue, Tahira added: ‘Options are open to file a police complaint or knock on doors of State Women’s Commission. I will take the call only after meeting BUTA officials on Monday.” Professor claimed she has support of all teachers in the university. She had filed a complaint against Solanki to rector N C Sharma for misbehavour with her. She went to meet Solanki to ask for TA and DA payment of an external, who had come from Allahabad for research degree committee.
She had alleged Solanki used intemperate words without any provocation. “He was unnecessarily reacting when he was asked about payment,” Tahira, a member of executive council of BU, highest decision making body in the university, claimed. Sources said Tahira was worried about payment after a cheque presented to the external had bounced.
Tahira alleged that despite knowing the fact it was an important issue and the registrar was not ready to listen. Registrar Solanki, however, had refuted allegations.
In November, a woman employee of sociology department in BU, had filed a complaint against vice-chancellor Tiwari for alleged mental torture and casteist remark against her.
