More winter showers, fog in the skyline

Winter showers were experienced in the state capital for the second consecutive day on Saturday resulting in a marginal dip in day temperature. Showers continued past midnight.

BHOPAL: Winter showers were experienced in the state capital for the second consecutive day on Saturday resulting in a marginal dip in day temperature. Showers continued past midnight. Showers were also experienced in other parts of the state. After Friday night showers, the city woke up to foggy weather.
Showers drenched the state capital on Friday night, but Saturday’s showers were accompanied by high velocity winds.

Assistant meteorologist of meteorological department, Bhopal division, Manglesh Raikwaparn said similar weather conditions would continue in the state during the next 48 hours because of an upper air cyclonic circulation over Rajasthan and the adjoining areas. Day temperature recorded in Bhopal was 25.4 as it went down by a degree celsius while the minimum was 16 degrees celsius, 5 degrees more than normal.
Night temperature will go down further after the clouds clear, Raikwaparn said.
After heavy thunder showers on Friday night a number of trees were uprooted in the city. Besides, roofs tiles of number of houses in Berasia tehsil were ripped. City recorded a total of 19.5 mm rain on Friday night while Gwalior received 13.4 mm rain.
On Saturday Gwalior received 25.0 mm rain followed by Guna 20.0 mm, Shajapur 9.0 mm, Shivpuri 8.0 mm, Jabalpur 2.0 mm, Narsinghpur 3.0 mm, Satna 3 mm, Damoh 2.0 mm, Pachmarhi 2.0 mm and Naogaon 1.0 mm. Minimum temperature in state was recorded in Rewa at 7 degrees celsius while maximum and minimum temperatures among the four main cities ranged between 25.4 degrees celsius and 13.1 degrees celsius. In Sunday forecast, weatherman said more showers are likely in Bhopal and other places of the state.
