The internet went into a tizzy recently when it was reported that long-time sweethearts Freida Pinto and Dev Patel called it quits after six years. Many reports claimed that liquor baron Vijay Mallya's son, Sid Mallya, was responsible for the breakup since Freida spent her 30th birthday with him and not Dev. But, Sid recently went on record to clarify that he had no role to play in the couple's parting.
Speaking to a news daily, Sid said that he and four other people were partying with Freida and were all present in the picture that was circulated online.Sid said that he was just part of the group that was celebrating Freida's birthday and that a big deal was made just because he is "newsworthy".
