The first day of four-day mega property exhibition at Cidco's exhibition centre was full of chaos and confusion, with several visitors and participants claiming that the exhibition centre does not meet international standards.
The problem of poor planning and space crunch was widely exposed on the first day itself. Builders Association of Navi Mumbai (BANM) has chosen Cidco's exhibition centre as a better option to hold the mega property exhibition. However, it turned out to be a wrong decision as several developers backed out from the exhibition, citing lack of space and poor planning.

The organiser has taken only a part of the centre for the exhibition on the ground floor, which does not include the auditorium. Visitors as well as participants alleged that the exhibition centre has faulty planning as it cannot even accommodate hundred stalls. In fact, visitors were seen running from one gate to to the other to find the entrance. "There is no proper entrance and nobody is there to guide us. Security staff is asking to get access from the other side. But they are not telling which is exact side for the entrance," said Prafulla Patil, a visitor.

Even sales executives from several stalls found it inconvenient to move frequently inside the exhibition centre. "I am looking for the exit gate for the last 20 minutes, but I have still been unable to locate it," said a saleswoman.
The main function area, where inaugural function was held, also did not have enough space for all participants to sit. The security staff, too, was finding it difficult to manage security of the chief guests.
The organiser has divided the exhibition centre in two parts. A few exhibitors have been given stalls outside the centre, but the way to enter the stall in from inside the exhibition centre.

A few participants claimed that the air-condition of the exhibition centre was also not working properly. "At the entrance, there is enough cooling, however, participants with stalls in rear do not have enough cooling," said a participant. "The exhibition centre fails to match international standards. New Delhi and Mumbai have much better exhibition centres," added the participant.
With little space inside the centre, participants fear that on weekend, there will be problem to control the rush.

Top developers backed out from the exhibition as they did not get stalls at a prime location inside the centre
Dharmendra Karia, secretary of BANM, accepted that a few developers could not participat because of space crunch. "A few participants backed out as they wanted prime location, which was not available," said Karia at the inaugural function
Last year, more than 125 developers displayed their properties at the expo which was held at Sanpada. However, this year, the number has gone down to 100
The organiser had to erect temporary shed for around 15 stalls as they did not get space inside the centre.
