‘Zoomgate’ legislator suspended for a day
Aurad BJP MLA Prabhu Chavan, who was caught zooming in on a photograph of Priyanka Gandhi on his smartphone during the legislature session on Wednesday, was suspended for a day on Friday.

Two others, including housing minister M H Ambareesh, were warned for using mobile phones inside the legislative assembly. The decision was taken by legislative assembly Speaker Kagodu Thimmappa after discussions with CM Siddaramaiah, oppostion leaders and the other leaders of the house.
“I am fully convinced that only Prabhu B Chavan was found watching pictures on his mobile in an objectionable manner on the floor of the House. Hence, Chavan has been suspended from the services of the House for a day and I ask him to go out of the session immediately,” Thimmappa told the assembly.
He also announced the setting up of an ethics committee in the assembly as per previous recommendations.
