In her effort to woo diplomats and industrialists visiting the Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors Summit  (VGGIS) 2015, Chief Minister Anandiben Patel will do a dinner diplomacy separately with these two high-profile groups, mainly to project Gujarat now as the trade gateway for India.

On December 18, Patel will be hosting a dinner for ambassadors to India of various countries in New Delhi. And on December 17, top 50 industrialists will have chat with CM at a high tea at her residence in Gandhinagar.

With upcoming seventh edition of VGGIS, which was started by Prime Minister Narendra Modi as Gujarat CM in 2003, Gujarat government is presenting the state as business hub of India. The thrusts of the two meetings back to back will be how Gujarat has evolved into a business hub from preferred investment destination since 2003.

While Patel in the recent past had one-on-one meeting with the ambassadors of many countries, either in Gandhinagar or Delhi, this will be the first time all will come under one roof. The meeting, which will happen before Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacts with them at the summit, Patel is expected to give them a brief idea of the new policies and planning by the Gujarat government, along with how the state can be useful for their respective countries in expanding business ties, not only with Gujarat, but India as a whole.

The state has recently announced three new policies, including electronics, e-governance, and IT Policy. Besides, the state is likely to announce a couple of new policies, including industrial and tourism, before the commencement of three-day VGGIS from January 11.

Delegations, comprising diplomats and industrialists from as many as 121 countries, are expected to attend the VGGIS 2015 to be held at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar.
