We thank Ms Stephanie Yeo for her kind comments and suggestions in the letter “Warehouse Club may facilitate return of kampung spirit” (Dec 10), regarding the opening of Warehouse Club.

We agree that Warehouse Club, with its offering of bulk buys, multi-packs and exclusive brands, is an alternative for catering to customers’ varying needs through discounted prices for large-sized purchases.

We are thus exploring ways to do more with Warehouse Club, as FairPrice constantly looks to give back to the community.

Through our multiple retail formats, we strive to give customers from all walks of life quality products with good value.

Warehouse Club’s membership requirement allows FairPrice to keep the format sustainable. This retail format can offer members lower prices than usual and unique products to serve different needs, thus benefiting local communities.

We look forward to better serving our customers and the community through this new format.
