JCT Rallying’s Samir Thapar (co-driver Gurinder Singh Mann) won the Super Special Stage of the Coffee Day Rally, the sixth and concluding round of the FMSCI Indian Rally Championship, which commenced at Chikkamagaluru on Friday.
The crowd at the Amber Valley School grounds, however, were left disappointed as 2013 APRC champion champion Gaurav Gill (co-driver Musa Sherif) of Mahindra Adventure retired just 200 metres after the start due to a broken drive shaft. Thapar, driving the Mitsubishi Evo X, came out on top with a time of 2:27.3s, ahead of Vikram Mathias (co-driver Swaroop Mohan), who finished in 02:27.8s.
