23rd FIM conference at NIT-K from Dec 18

MANGALURU: The 23rd International Conference of the Forum for Interdisciplinary Mathematics (FIM) on "Interdisciplinary Mathematical, Statistical and Computational Techniques (IMSCT-2014-)" will be organized by the Department of Mathematical and Computational Sciences, National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NIT-K) Surathkal from December 18 to 20.
Local Organizing Secretary Prof. Suresh M Hegde said the main aim of the conference is to bring together the people working on Interdisciplinary techniques in solving the real life problems. The conference is a platform to present/discuss the state of the art and come up with new techniques. Many eminent people from reputed institutions like, TIFR, IISc, IMSc, ISI, IIT and Waseda University, Japan, are taking part in the deliberations. Over 150 researchers from 23 states of India are participating in the conference. There are four Symposiums during the conference.
The conference will be inaugurated by Prof. P Seshu, Professor, department of Mechanical Engineering and former Director, CSIR Centre for Mathematical Modelling and Computer Simulation (CMMACS) Bangalore. The Valedictory address will be by Prof. Sujatha Ramdorai from TIFR Mumbai.
The Forum (FIM) is a registered International society of scholars working in Mathematical Sciences and related areas. The forum is holding International conferences in India and aboard alternatively. The last conference was held at Waseda University, Japan in November 2013. The Forum is publishing research journals and Research Monographs' through SPRINGER.
