Metro behind college invades privacy, say girls

Hyderabad: More than 250 students of the Koti Women’s College protested the construction of the Metro Rail behind their college building claiming that they would lose their privacy.
The proposed new Metro route diverted from Badi Chowdi, taking a left turn towards Tilak Road and passing behind the Koti Women’s College has left the students upset. They staged a protest from 11.30 am to 1.30 pm demanding that their privacy must be protected.
Sri K.V. Teja, a student, said, “How will we concentrate on our studies if we have the Metro passing by our college so often? How will we be able to enjoy the freedom that we currently have? We sit in the college compound, study and also chat with our friends. The Metro will violate our privacy.” The students have registered their protest with the principal.
Traffic curbs for chaderghat metro work:
City police commissioner M. Mahender Reddy issued orders diverting vehicular traffic in view of the Metro Rail works from Chaderghat crossroads to Malakpet railway over-bridge for a period of two months from December 13, 2014 up to February 13, 2015.
Traffic coming from Kalikhaber Road and going towards Malakpet must take a diversion at Chaderghat crossroads via Chaderghat bridge. RTC buses from MGBS which want to go towards Dilsukhnagar, must take the diversion at Chaderghat crossroads and go via Chaderghat bridge towards Malakpet.
Traffic from DMHS and Koti towards Malakpet, instead going towards Chaderghat bridge, must take a diversion at Chaderghat crossroads towards Chaderghat. The district RTC buses from MGBS will be diverted at Chaderghat crossroads towards Nimboliadda-Amberpet-Golnaka bridge-Moosarambagh crossroads.
Vehicles from Dilsukhnagar towards Malakpet, MGBS or Koti are to be diverted at Moosarambagh towards Golnaka Bridge, Amberpet, Nimboliadda, Chaderghat towards Koti, MGBS, Charminar.
