Freida Pinto to produce two international projects

After making an impact in the acting field, Freida Pinto is now turning producer. Debuting with Slumdog Millionaire, the actress has starred in a number of British and American productions, notably You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger, Rise Of The Planet Of Apes, Immortals and Trishna. Now she is one of the producers of her charity initiative, Girl Rising. This film which has Priyanka Chopra as its brand ambassador, has nine stories from different parts of the world and Chopra will be lending her voice for the Hindi adaptation of the film.
“Besides this, Freida will be starting two projects. As expected, both will have strong female characters. However, it is not yet decided if she will be acting in them. The films are expected to go on floors next year,” revealed a source.
Though Girl Rising is clearly her focus right now, Pinto is also working simultaneously on getting things off the ground for her other two films. 2015 is also a busy year for her as she has three releases – Desert Dancer by Richard Raymond, Terence Mallik’s Knight of Cups opposite Christian Bale and a third mainstream film that will be revealed shortly.
While Freida was unavailable for comment, when contacted, her spokesperson in India confirmed the development without divulging any details.
