Naseeruddin Shah to do a Bhojpuri film

Actor-director Naseeruddin Shah, who has just wrapped up the shooting of Anees Bazmee’s comedy Welcome Back, has already started shooting for his next, director Anu Menon’s serious drama Waiting. Meanwhile, the veteran actor has also signed a Bhojpuri film in which he will be seen with Ravi Kishan. “Ravi Kishan is playing a revolutionary in the film and I will be playing his mentor,” said Shah, who will be doing a Bhojpuri film for the first time.
Interestingly, regional cinema is not new to Shah as he has done a Kannada film Tabbaliyu Neenade Magane in 1977 and the 1980 Gujarati film Bhavni Bhavai. The actor has also been a part of Pratidan, a Bengali film (1983), and Mane in Kannada. A decade ago, he did a Malayalam film, Ponthan Mada which was helmed by T.V. Chandran. Shah has also dabbled with Marathi cinema when he did Deool in 2011. Last year, there was the Bengali film, Khasi Katha -A Goat Saga, a Punjabi film Zinda Bhaag and the multilingual Amma 3D down South!
