BHOPAL: Tansen Samaroh will be held from December 12 to 15 on the premises of Tansen Samadhi, Hajira in Gwalior. The event will commence with Hari Katha Milad at 9.30 am.
The first session of Tansen Samaroh will be inaugurated at 7 pm where minister of state for culture and tourism Surendra Patwa will confer Tansen Samman to Prabhakar Karekar. He will be given Rs 2 lakh as part of the award.
Pandit Prabhakar Karekar from Goa is a well-known personality in music fraternity as a classical singer. He learnt music from Pandit Suresh Ilarankar and Pandit Jitendra Abhisheki.
He also received Government of India’s scholarship. Karekar practiced under supervision of famous Acharya of Gwalior and Agra Gharanas Pandit CR Vyas. He developed his own distinct style by assimilating styles of various Gharanas.
He has also earned fame during his music entourages in England, America and Gulf countries.
