MANGALURU: Amruthur in Kunigal taluk of Tumakuru district recorded maximum rainfall of 93mm in Karnataka in the last 24-hours up to 8.30am on December 11. Uppinangady hobli in Puttur taluk of Dakshina Kannada district recorded maximum temperature of 39.8°C on December 10 at 1pm. Aurad hobli in Gulbarga taluk of Gulbarga district recorded lowest minimum temperature of 11.6°C at 4.45am on December 11.

Maximum temperature changed little over the state. Minimum temperature rose at many places over north interior Karnataka and changed little over remaining parts of the state. More than 90% relative humidity has been recorded in 46% geographical area in the state. Less than 25% of relative humidity has been recorded in 1% geographical area in the state.
Rainfall over the state is considered as isolated since 22% of the hoblis and gram panchayats recorded rainfall of =2.5mm. Heavy rain was recorded in six gram panchayats; rather heavy rain in 16 GPs; moderate rain in 156 GPs; light rain in 143 GPs; very light rain over 139 GPs; and no rain in remaining 1,482 GPs.
Karnataka for period from December 5 to December 11 recorded surplus rainfall of 2%. Against normal weighted average rainfall of 4mm in south-interior, north-interior, malnad and coastal parts, state recorded rainfall of 4.1mm. For 24-hours period ending 8.30am on December 11, four geographical regions received 3.4mm actual weighted average rainfall against normal weighted average rainfall of 0.5mm, a 574% surplus departure from normal.
