MRPL provides generator to Roman and Catherine Lobo School for blind children

Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd (MRPL) in response to request from Roman and Catherine Lobo School for the Blind procured and installed 500-KvA generator to facilitate uninterrupted power supply to this unique school being run by Seva Bharathi Trust.

MANGALURU: Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd (MRPL) in response to request from Roman and Catherine Lobo School for the Blind procured and installed 500-KvA generator to facilitate uninterrupted power supply to this unique school being run by Seva Bharathi Trust. B Sadashiv Prabhu, additional DC, DK district handed over the keys of the generator to Calistus D'Sa, principal of the school.

The school offers formal and Braille education to visually impaired children from 5 to 15 years of age and currently has around 40 students enrolled under the Karnataka State syllabus from Class I to X. The significance of the ceremony was heightened as the power failed and the genset kicked in cooling the classroom, powering computers, and other electrical equipment, much to the delight of students.
Sushilchandra, general manager (human resources development and corporate social responsbililty), Lakshmi M Kumaran, deputy general manager, (corporate communication), MRPL, Dr U V Shenoy, professor of Paediatrics, KMC, Mangaluru and the main force behind this school project of Seva Bharathi, Ketan Chandrana, teachers and students of the school were present.
