Male chefs are a common sight on television. As are programmes where men take off on culinary journeys to discover interesting dishes across the world. However, this isn't just restricted to the small screen.Even in real life, TV actors enjoy picking up their pots and pans to whip up a meal. Not only do they impress their better halves with their cooking skills, but they also find the entire process cathartic. We spoke to a few actors who enjoy the art of cooking.
Mrunal Jain
Being a Jain, I can prepare authentic Jain food. I'm a foodie, so I love to try new dishes when I get time. I can cook dal baati which is a Rajasthani specialty -everyone can't make it, as it involves a certain kind of preparation. I also love making pastas, tofu poha and rava upma. I enjoy cooking because it requires concentration and at the same time, it's a stress buster. Before marriage, I used to cook for my mom and myself. Now I cook to please my mother and my wife. I feel all men should know how to cook.

I find cooking extremely cathartic and the idea of cooking for my wife is exciting. I don't cook much here, but whenever we travel, I make it a point to cook as much as I can. The dish I particularly enjoy preparing is Spaghetti Aglio e Olio.
Kunwar Amarjeet Singh
I keep on experimenting with my food and keep learning new things. My favorite is mutter paneer and butter chicken. Also, Charlie (Chauhan) is a chicken lover, so I learned to cook chicken for her. I can also make laccha paratha. I feel a sense of happiness when people eat something I have prepared with so much of love.

Rithvik Dhanjani
According to me, cooking is an art combined with science. While I don't get to cook on a daily basis, my skills are put into practice on emergency days when no one is around. I remember making egg paratha for Asha (Negi) once. I was hesitant to let her taste it, as I was worried that it was not tasty . I don't have a signature dish. I usually check what's in the kitchen and make whatever I can out of it. Egg preparations are the easiest to make as one can experiment a lot with them.
Nakuul Mehta
I think there is a certain freedom in cooking, in exploring all edibles and creating art on a plate. And the best part is that there is food to eat at the end of the experiment. I make just about enough dishes to save myself from starvation. Sometimes, I whip up something on a special occasion for family and friends. I'm good at making Spanish omelette, pasta in pink sauce, Greek quinoa salad and some vegetarian salads.
Nandish Sandhu
I cook mostly on Sundays if I'm not working. Cooking gives me a sense of calm and peace. We keep running around throughout the week, but cooking on Sundays lets me be with my family and friends.I love cooking Continental food like baked fish, stuffed roasted chicken, salads, pastas and steaks. I've prepared meals for my family a few times. The last meal I prepared included tomato basil soup, Waldorf salad, baked lemon garlic fish and oats muffin.
Anuj Sachdeva
Whenever nobody is home to cook for me, I make a meal myself as I prefer eating homemade food. I love fixing breakfast for myself. I like preparing Indian dishes, especially r a j m a ch aw a l .I have learnt cooking over the phone from my mother. I think every girl would love to see her guy cook a meal for her.
Neil Bhatt
Whenever I cook, I make sure my mom is by my side.I always take cooking tips from her. I enjoy ghar ka khaana and love making dal dhokli.
