Montreal Impact sack Soriola

Nigeria midfielder Gege Soriola was not offered a new contract by his MLS club Montreal Impact.

The former JUTH FC of Jos utility player is listed as one of the unprotected player by his club ahead of the 2015 MLS season, which means he is free to move.

Soriola, who joined Impact Montreal in August, 2014 , did not play for the team in the MLS throughout the 2014 season but featured in a reserve game against Charlotte Eagles on September 1, when he was a 46th minute substitute for Fabio Morelle in a game which ended 1-1.

He played for Free State Stars in South Africa before his move to the USA.

The 26-year-old player, who has eight caps for Nigeria, plays as a central defender and midfielder and has played for Bayelsa United and Heartland.
