Railway employee convicted for killing paralyzed wife

YAMUNANAGAR: A fast track court here on Wednesday held a railway employee guilty of killing his wife, who was paralyzed. The court sentenced Shankar Lal, a resident of Railway Workshop Colony, to life imprisonment for strangulating his wife to death on April 5 while she was sleeping. Ten people appeared as witnesses in the case. An FIR was registered against Shankar on the basis of a complaint lodged by his son Arjun Kumar.Arjun had stated in his complaint that after killing his mother, Shankar fled to Uttar Pradesh. Shankar was later arrested from UP.
