KATHUA, Dec 10: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate from Billawar Assembly segment, Dr Nirmal Singh promised to connect Billawar town with rail link.
Addressing series of public meetings in Billawar Assembly segment, Dr Singh assured the people that if elected he would take up this issue with the Union Government to connect Billawar town with rail link because it was feasible to connect Billawar with rail link from Battal.
“The proposed line will divert from Railway Station Kathua towards north, pass through a tunnel (to be made) below Sunderikot hill and reach Billawar valley. There from it will run almost parallel to the Dhar Road and will reach Manwal Kishanpur. This will reduce the distance by nearly 50 kilometers to Udhampur, Katra Vaishno Devi and Srinagar for the visitors/tourists coming  from rest of India”, he said and hoped that this project will have remarkable effect on development of Bhaddu, Billawar, Gujroo Nagrota, Ramkot and scores of other villages upto Manwal  and Kishanpur.
Reiterating he resolve to make Billawar as model Assembly constituency in the whole State, Dr Singh said it was result of the failures on the part of the successive elected representatives that this area remained neglected in all spheres of life.
“We have prepared a comprehensive vision document for the socio-economic growth of the residents of Billawar Assembly segment”, he said and sought support of the every section for the betterment and growth of Billawar.
Cautioning people against some elements who are trying to befool the people by raking up irrelevant issues, Dr Singh said that formation of BJP Government in J&K is must to accelerate developmental activities in entire State. “BJP Government at J&K would have direct liaison with the BJP Government at Centre and it will help in changing destiny of the people of J&K”, he said.
