JAMMU, Dec 10: A case of negligence was registered today against Junior Engineer (JE) of Power Development Department (PDD), Miran Sahib and others for engaging an unskilled labourer for repairing a transformer, who got an electric shock on Nov 27, 2014 while repairing the transformer.
According to the reports, the labourer who has been identified as Rakesh Kumar son of Bishan Dass, a resident of Neri was repairing a transformer installed in a private mobile tower at Maralia, when he got an severe electric shock. He was immediately shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, where the doctors chopped off his one arm to save his life. He is still under treatment at GMCH.
On the statement of the victim, Miran Sahib police today registered a case FIR No 132/14 Under Section 338 RPC against PDD JE, Ravinder Singh and other employees of the department. Further, investigation in the case is going on.
