THE FLICK & FESTEN Set for New Century Theatre Company's 2015 Season

New Century Theatre Company (NCTC) has announced its dynamic 2015 season will include 2014 Pulitzer Prize-winner The Flick by Annie Baker and the powerhouse family drama Festen by David Eldridge. The Flick will be directed by NCTC Company Member MJ Sieber, who directed David Mamet's The Water Engine at Strawberry Theatre Workshop in 2007. Festen will be directed by Wilson Milam, who has directed for Seattle Repertory Theatre (God of Carnage, Glengarry Glen Ross) and was nominated for a Tony Award for his direction of the 2006 production of Martin McDonagh's The Lieutenant of Inishmore on Broadway.

Since the company began in 2008, NCTC has performed in a variety of spaces in Seattle, including ACT - A Contemporary Theatre, the Erickson Theatre, and the historic INS building. This will be NCTC's first season as one of three resident companies at 12th Avenue Arts in Seattle's Capitol Hill neighborhood.

NCTC will continue its popular Pipeline, a special series that presents play readings on the third Monday of every month at Solo Bar in Queen Anne. Each Pipeline play is selected by the Company and aims to foster a community between audiences and artists. Pipeline is free to attend.

It is patriarch Helge's 60th birthday and friends and family, including his three adult children, converge upon the family-run hotel for the celebration. As the story unfolds, horrible secrets are revealed among the characteristic obstructions and false cheeriness of families. A story of overcoming the past and finding the words to set you free, this powerhouse family drama is adapted by David Eldridge from the Danish film The Celebration and will be directed by Tony Award nominee Wilson Milam.
