Bali Nine to face execution before month's end

Two of the so-called Bali Nine convicted drug traffickers Myuran Sukumaran and Andrew Chan have had their appeals for clemency denied by newly elected Indonesian President Joko Widodo.

As part of his crackdown on drugs, the President has condemned the two Australians and 62 other drug prisoners in Indonesian jails to the firing squad.

The Australian and Indonesian lawyers for Sukumaran and Chan are now in urgent meetings to discuss what, if any legal options, are available.
