FIRST LOOK: Subodh Bhave as Lokmanya Tilak
The much awaited look of Subodh Bhave in the upcoming film 'Lokmanya-Ek Yugpurush' was unveiled on the backdrop of an iconic setting in Pune on Tuesday.
The film is based on the life story of Bal Gangadhar Tilak, a social reformer and the freedom fighter of the Indian Independent Movement. It has been directed by the debutant director Om Raut. 'Lokmanya-Ek Yugpurush' is a film aspiring to bring to the foreground one of the nation's greatest leaders whose teachings remain a relevant inspiration even today.
The movie releasing on January 2015 was also an official selection in the Indian Panorama section of International Film Festival of India (IFFI), Goa 2014.
The makers had done their best to prevent Subodh's look in the film to get out and this helped in raising the curiosity of the viewers who turned up in large numbers at the do. Talking about his look, the actor had said, "I decided to shave my head to make the character look more real. I didn't want to leave any stone unturned from my side as when you portray a real life character a lot of emotions are attached with it." Apparently, during the shoot of 'Lokmanya', Subodh was also shooting for two other films - Santosh Kolhe's 'Malak' and Rajendra Palak's 'Rainy Day' for which he chose to wear a wig.
Subodh looked every bit like the freedom fighter in the mustache, Puneri pagdi and the iconic walking stick.
