Busy last 24 hours for Paul Bissonnette.
Bissonnette, who was released from a professional tryout with AHL Portland yesterday, has caught on with another American League club -- the Manchester Monarchs, minor-league affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings.
The deal was completed on Tuesday, per a report from Mayor’s Manor. The new tryout comes after BizNasty appeared in eight games for the Pirates, going pointless with a minus-1 rating and, perhaps most notably, zero fights.
A veteran of over 200 career NHL contests with the Penguins and Coyotes, Bissonnette last played in the bigs during the ’13-14 campaign, where he actually had some relatively decent success: two goals and a career-high eight points in 39 games played.
