David Silva, Stevan Jovetic, Fernandinho and captain Vincent Kompany all trained on Tuesday ahead of Manchester City's flight to Rome.

Victory in Italy on Wednesday night will put City in the last 16 of the Champions League as long as CSKA Moscow fail to beat Bayern Munich in the other match in Group E.

A score draw will be enough if CSKA are beaten, and City's chances improved with the sight of some key players joining a first-team workout at the club's new £200m facility in Manchester on Tuesday morning.

Silva has not played since injuring a knee in City's League Cup defeat to Newcastle at the end of October, while Kompany has missed two games with a hamstring problem.

Jovetic and Fernandinho sat out Saturday's victory over Everton, a game which saw top scorer Sergio Aguero leave the pitch with a knee injury.

Aguero will miss the game in Rome along with Yaya Toure, who remains banned following his sending off against CSKA last month.
