Musona offered to Chiefs again Knowledge Musona

JOHANNESBURG. – German Bundesliga club TSG 1899 Hoffenheim have approached Kaizer Chiefs, offering them Knowledge Musona ahead of the January transfer window.

Stuart Baxter tells this website that Hoffenheim have come back knocking on their door regarding the unsettled Zimbabwean striker.

Chiefs’ intentions to bring Musona back at the beginning of the season fell through due to contractual disagreements.

“They have come back again to us and they are asking if we are still interested. Well, the window is opening and we will reassess it and if the deal is good for Kaizer Chiefs then we will do it,” Baxter told KickOff.com.

Musona has been frozen out at Hoffenheim, while Chiefs have left one foreign spot open with the aim of using it to bring in the 24-year-old in January if the deal works out.

The Zimbabwe international has recovered from an ankle injury that he picked up while on loan at Chiefs last season and though he prefers to continue in Europe, it is no doubt that Amakhosi will provide a good platform to get his career back in motion again.

Chiefs are aware of the need to strengthen their squad in attack as goals have not been coming from their frontmen.

Meanwhile, Mamelodi Sundowns striker Cuthbert Malajila’s injury is not serious and he should be ready to play against Orlando Pirates tomorrow.

The Zimbabwe international scored the opening goal in a 2-0 win over Free State Stars on the weekend but limped off due to a hamstring injury and was replaced by Anthony Laffor midway through the first half.

Sundowns, however, say the marksman should be available for the upcoming trip to Orlando Stadium.

“The doctors are saying it’s a minor injury and it’s not serious at all,” Downs media officer Thulani Thuswa told KickOff.com.

“He should be ready to take to the field against Pirates but a thorough assessment will be made later this afternoon. But by the look of it, it shouldn’t be a problem.”

The Brazilians are second on the table, 13 points behind Kaizer Chiefs, who have played an extra game. – KickOff.
