Man arrested on suspicion in botched bank robbery

PONDA: Musa Patel, 29, was arrested by Ponda police on Monday afternoon for his suspected role in a foiled burglary attempt in April this year.
Police inspector Chetan Patil at Ponda police station said that Patel was spotted in CCTV footage of a nationalized bank.
The accused had attempted to snatch a handbag from a petrol pump owner Bal Sahakari when he had gone to the bank on April 5, this year, Patil said.
He also added that they have arrested him on suspicion. The police had arrested Patel recently in possession of a small quantity of ganja and police were familiar with his face.
A case of attempted burglary has been registered at Ponda police station under Section 394 and Section 511 of IPC. tnn
