17-year-old girl commits suicide

A 17-year-old girl reportedly committed suicide by jumping in an agricultural well after she was allegedly scolded by her father over an issue at Bondavanipalem area in Sabbavaram mandal on Monday morning.

According to reports, the girl was a second-year intermediate student in a Government Junior College.

Locals retrieved the body on Monday afternoon.

Two arrested

A City Task Force (CTF) team arrested two persons for allegedly selling drugs near Urvasi Theatre in Kancharapalem area, here on Monday. They were G. Sagar (28) and S. Surendra (22), both residents of Dharma Nagar, Kancharapalem. The CTF team also recovered 200 sleeping and antidepressant pills and 21 Fortwin injections from the accused.
