Avanti taps Mooney to head product development

Moonachie, N.J. – Avanti Linens has appointed industry veteran Christopher Mooney as its vp of merchandising and product development.

He reports to Jeff Kaufman, president/coo.

Mooney brings more than 25 years of career experience working in product development and branding. Most recently, he founded and operated Brandstorm, an agency specializing in branding, marketing and execution of national brands. Prior to that he held senior positions at Style.Lab and Avonhome, assigned to marketing, sales and product development. Earlier, Mooney ran his own product development, design and sourcing company, partnering wholesalers and retailers with factories primarily in India and China.

At Avanti, Mooney is responsible for all aspects of design, branding and product development.

“We talked to a number of very qualified and talented people both inside and outside the industry and felt that Chris brought the best combination of experience and skills to Avanti,” Kaufman said. “In the short time that he’s been with us, he has made a big impact and we’re confident he’s going to be a significant contributor to our business.”
