Stroganoff disqualified

December 08, 2014 04:31 pm | Updated 04:31 pm IST - Mumbai:

Trainer Faisal Abbas’ ward Stroganoff, who won the Goel Ganga Group Super Sprint in Pune on Oct. 18, 2014, tested positive for ‘Boldenone’ according to the race day report issued by RWITC.

The Stewards of the Club who met here on Dec. 7, interviewed the trainer regarding the Confirmatory Analysis Report from LCH, France, and handed over a copy to him to continue his own enquiries and explain within 15 days.

As per the Medication Rules, the Stewards of the Club decided to disqualify Stroganoff (winner) and revise the order as below: Flanker 1, Zambian 2, Captain Abdon 3 and Cold Play 4.

Further considering Stroganoff has been reported for an anabolic steroid, the Stewards decided to ban Stroganoff from racing up to June 7, 2015.
