Police said the passengers were part of a wedding party from Kalakeri village of Naragund heading to Tumakuru.

As the bus approached Haveri, the driver allegedly tried to overtake a vehicle and lost control of it, due to which the speeding bus overturned.

A case was registered at Haveri town police station.
