CISF jawan hurt in attack

SRINAGAR, Dec 7: Kashmir valley is under tightest ever security for the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s election rally with barricades in Srinagar erected everywhere to foil any attempts to disrupt the rally. And militants hurled a grenade at security forces in Tral area of South Kashmir
Over 3000 para-military security forces personnel have been deployed in and around the stadium along with Jammu and Kashmir Police, with sharp shooters taking positions at all high rise buildings and Special Protection Group (SPG) taking control of the Stadium.
Every inch of the stadium was searched and scanned for the security of the rally. Metal detectors have been put in place and besides this there will be body search of the people who enter the stadium to attend the rally at around half a dozen places.
A top BJP leader told Excelsior that they are expecting between 50, 000 to one lakh people for Modi’s rally.
CRPF and Police conducted searches in Qamarwari, Jahangir Chowk, Gantagar, Lal Chowk,Parimpora, Bemina, Hazuri Bagh, Nishat, Nehru Park, Tourist Centre, Residency Road, MA Road and other places to foil attempts to disrupt the rally.
Security has also been beefed up in North and South Kashmir areas including Sopore, Kupwara, Baramulla, Bandipora, Handwara, Anantnag, Pulwama, Shopian and Pamore. Army was also seen carrying out checking of vehicles in different areas.
Police and para-military forces erected barricades across Srinagar city and all entry and exit points to the city were sealed and all in and outgoing vehicles were thoroughly checked and people frisked.
The CCTV cameras have been installed inside the stadium while SPG personnel would monitor activities of the crowd with binoculars and besides this the top police officers have also been given job to monitor the proceedings of the rally.
The traffic police have devised a route plan for smooth plying of traffic in Srinagar city taking in view the security concerns.
The vehicles from South Kashmir will be allowed to ply only up to Badami Bagh Cantonment Batwara Srinagar. No vehicle will be allowed to proceed beyond the point towards Sonwar area. The vehicles will be parked in Kendriya Vidyalaya ground at BB Cantonment.
The vehicles coming from Baramulla, Kupwara and Budgam will be allowed to ply only upto Hatric Crossing Raj Bagh and Budshah Bridge near Jehangir Chowk. No vehicle will be allowed to proceed beyond Budshah Chowk and Hatric Crossing Rajbagh.
The vehicles coming from Ganderbal will be allowed to ply only up to Hotel Lalit and up to Police Golf Course Boulevard Srinagar and the vehicles coming from Khanyar side will be allowed only up to Badyari crossing.

Meanwhile, militants hurled a grenade towards at CISF at Nowpora near Government Higher Secondary School Tral in which one CISF jawan was injured.
